Finally inherited my brother’s stereo after six years of no one using it!
I found some tapes inside and laughed. I haven’t heard the Sri Venkatesa Suprabhatam in years. In elementary school in India, I had to memorise and recite the all the verses every Friday. Memorising Sanskrit is easy when you don’t need to understand what you’re saying.
Right so
I get a lot of people asking me about my hip hop background and telling me how they’re surprised when they find out I’m Indian.
So FAQ answers:

Yes, I fucking love hip hop; it’s my favourite genre. I don’t know why this is such a big deal.
Any other Indian hip hop-lovers out there? We should start a club. Or a zoo since people are so fascinated by our species.

Oh my god I love this. All her forms are so accurate.
Her Carnatic style (at 5:20) is my favourite, but I might be biased since I was…raised in Tamil Nadu. The Bengali form was also really good.

Me too!!! I only have two of their albums, and I was looking on their website to see if they had any free downloads, but apparently not. It’s so hard to find free .zips for any of their music! I was so bummed! Star Slinger, on the other hand, releases so much free music so go check it out.
